“Art is never finished, only abandoned” – Leonard Da Vinci.

At the backend of 2017 Lions of Dissent released their debut EP – What Would it Feel Like to be Free. Within 6 months the group exploded into technicolour life! Selling out back-to-back gigs in 2 different cities, plays on BBC 6 Music, championed by Lee Scratch Perry and a raft of worldwide press coverage and radio play. Despite this no singles were ever released off the recording, and it was subsequently abandoned. Until now.

Some things are better second time around.

Fast forward nearly 7 years and the group embarked upon and completed a full polyphonic reinvention of the original recording. Expect the existing soul to be amplified with new elements, melody, reinvented artwork, and a full sonic remaster.

On release this record was a distress signal from earth, a siren that rings even louder today than it did then.

So, here we are again, this time with an amplified voice – What Would it Feel Like to be Free 2024.
